Cro Cop facing more setbacks, will miss DREAM 5

According to MMAWeekly, Cro Cop will pull out of the July 21st event because of nagging injuries. He was supposed to participate in DREAM's previous promotion, but was unable to do so because of injuries as well. Clearly, we'd love to see Cro Cop back in the ring as soon as possible because it increases the chances that he'll be back fighting in the UFC, but he wants to get back to being 100 percent which is the right thing for his career. When he is healthy the guy is the scariest striker in the sport at any weight class. I think he came into the UFC with a big contract, with big expectations and got hurt badly in the Gonzaga fight. In hindsight, I think he should have taken more time off after that fight and gotten his body healed. Unfortunately, when you have a contract that big you need to fight in order to justify it. Hopefully, he heals up and puts on a good show in the fall so that we can see him back in the Octagon sometime in early 2009. No matter how good Dana believes the heavyweight division is, the UFC needs Cro Cop to be back, especially if Affliction has Tim Sylvia, Fedor, Josh Barnett, Arlovski and Couture once his contract dispute is settled.
