Elite XC HEAT Preview

Main Card

Heavyweight Bout: Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock[3]

-Luke: The is no doubt in my mind that Shamrock is going to get smashed into submission by Kimbo. Shamrock is over the hill and has been for years. His last fight was an absolute joke and I see this one being more laughable than that one. Kimbo Takes It.

-Butch: Shamrock's only chance in this fight will be to take Kimbo down before he can throw a punch and get a leg lock. However, I know Bas has been training Kimbo on his sprawl and leg lock defense. I suspect Shamrock will take two punches, go down, and the fight will be called when Kimbo pounces. Shamrock will cry early stoppage, but we all know he is done.

Welterweight Title Bout: Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley

-Luke: This has fight of the night written all over it. Shields has been rolling through everybody the last two years and Paul Daley is the Cage Rage Welterweight champ, so expect some fireworks. I am going with Shields here because he has just owned this division for two years and could probably would be seeing a shot at GSP if he was in the UFC right now.

-Butch: Daley is a hot headed trash talker from Britain that is out to prove he belongs. Shields will look to take this fight to the ground where Daley struggles. Daley has much better striking and will look to block take downs and go for a highlight reel knockout. I think Shields will get Daley down and sink in the rear naked choke to end this fight in round 2.

Heavyweight Bout: Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson[4]

-Luke: Arlovski in a one sided TKO here. Nelson is just too fat and out of shape to hand with legit heavyweights. It is one thing to dominate the IFL, but you fight the big boys you can't be a lard ass.

-Butch:As much as people want to say Nelson is a bar room brawler and too fat a la "Tank", I think people will be surprised by his cardio and ground game. Arlovski looked impressive in his win over Rothwell, but Nelson isn't a one trick pony. Nelson will look to take the pitbull down, use his weight advantage, and go for a submission. The plan sounds great, but things will changes once Arlovski punches Nelson. Look for a knockout in round 3.

Women's Bout: Gina Carano vs. Kelly Kobald

-Luke: Carano is the favorite no doubt and I'll stick with her in this match up. Definitely looking forward to seeing her fight Cyborg in the future.

-Butch: Carano barely made weight and might be drained. However, I expect her to handle Kobald. Probably in a unanimous decision.

Middleweight Bout: Benji Radach vs. Murilo Rua

-Luke: Even the Rua is suffering from injury issues over the last 12 months I like him better than Radach, who hasn't beaten a top notch guy in the past two years. I think Rua takes it and begins his road back to a title shot.

-Butch: Rua will continue his winning ways with a submission.
